What acne treatment goes after
Breakouts rarely have one cause, so Donna Starnes does not treat them as one problem. Her laser treatment targets the root causes of breakouts, clears active acne, and reduces inflammation, rather than only dealing with the spot in front of you.
It also gently exfoliates congested pores, which matters because clogged pores are where a lot of breakouts begin. The same Candela fractional non-ablative laser she uses for brightening and resurfacing does the work, so the surface of your skin is not being taken off.
Because every face is different, she personalizes the laser settings for each person. A client with redness and active breakouts and a client with older marks do not get the same program.

The course: four treatments, one price
Acne treatment for the face is $400, and that price includes 4 treatments. Each treatment is a 30 minute visit, so you are not paying per session and watching the total climb. It is one of the more straightforward lines on Donna's menu, which you can see beside the others on the pricing page.
Visits happen upstairs at Salons By JC on South Custer Road in McKinney. As with every new client, Donna first collects the information for her medical records and her medical director, and treatment begins once a medical professional approves it. Afterward she applies a cooling enzyme and sunscreen.
Plan on mild redness and swelling for a couple of hours, and now and then up to a day. Her honest framing of timing is that it takes 4 weeks for a session to count as a treatment, because skin keeps changing after you walk out.
After the breakouts: marks and texture
Clearing active acne is only half of what people want. The other half is what it leaves behind: the pink and brown marks that fade slowly, and a skin surface that no longer feels smooth. This treatment fades post-acne marks and smooths texture as part of the same course.
Marks that go deeper than discoloration, such as scarring, are the territory of laser resurfacing, which Donna lists as effective for acne scars. If you are unsure which of the two fits your skin, ask Donna before you book.
